Mechanical Properties and Electrical Resistivity of the Friction Stir Spot-Welded Dissimilar Al–Cu Joints

Alternative methods for dissimilar metal joining particularly aluminium and copper have gain interest in manufacturing sectors. Friction stir spot welding was carried out on the AA6061 C11000 wires of 2 mm diameter. This research paper reported results microstructures mechanical properties spot-welded joints, also special attention is provided electrical resistivity welds. The reveal information grain structure bonding. width diffusion layer significantly reduced with low dwell times. For a plunge depth 1 mm, maximum tensile strength (294 MPa) achieved during higher rotational speed (1400 rpm). same depth, lower values are exhibited by joint produced using (800 Hardness weld region recorded 70 HV which less than Cu (115 HV) greater Al (40 HV). FSSW joints (0.30 to 0.34 μΩ) offered range that base (0.02 μΩ). highlighted this might be helpful both academic researchers industrialists.
